El @gva_IVAM, presenta la exposición “Jean Dubuffet. Un bárbaro en Europa” concebida y realizada por el MUCEM de Marsella en coproducción con el IVAM y el MEG de Ginebra, que puede visitarse hasta el 16 de febrero en el museo valenciano.

A lo largo de la muestra podemos ver cómo se cuestionan los principios del arte y como el hombre común se convierte en el centro de la creación. Un recorrido concebido como una retrospectiva fuera de lo normal, donde se confrontan obras de diferentes épocas, donde se reflexiona sobre la etnología y se hace una crítica sobre la cultura de su tiempo.

Pintor, escultor, arquitecto y escritor, inventó el término “art brut” (o marginal), un tipo de arte en el que prevalece la creación espontánea, con manifestaciones artísticas llevadas a cabo normalmente por personas que se mantienen al margen de la sociedad.

The @gva_IVAM, presents the exhibition «Jean Dubuffet. A barbarian in Europe” conceived and made by the MUCEM of Marseille in co-production with the IVAM and the MEG of Geneva, which can be visited until February 16 in the Valencian museum.

Throughout the exhibition we can see how the principles of art are questioned and how the common man becomes the center of creation. A tour conceived as an unusual retrospective, where works from different eras are confronted, where one reflects on ethnology and criticizes the culture of his time.

Painter, sculptor, architect and writer, invented the term “art brut” (or marginal), a type of art in which spontaneous creation prevails, with artistic manifestations normally carried out by people who stay out of society.
