El Museo Reina Sofía, dentro de su idea de explorar una historia alternativa al discurso hegemónico del arte, muestra la obra de la artista estadounidense Dorothea Tanning.
Pintora, ilustradora, escultora y escritora es considerada una de las mujeres artistas más importantes y polifacéticas del siglo XX y sin embargo es una gran desconocida para el público general.

150 obras procedentes de instituciones y colecciones de diferentes partes del mundo como EEUU, Francia, Alemania, Grecia, Londres, Suecia e Israel,  entre las que encontramos lienzos, esculturas blandas, bocetos e ilustraciones forman la primera gran retrospectiva de esta artista surrealista que Tti ha traído a Madrid.

Durante el recorrido podemos ver como Tanning rompe la distancia entre la obra de arte y el espectador pretendiendo que sus creaciones sean una invitación para ir más allá.

The Reina Sofía Museum, within its idea of ​​exploring an alternative history to the hegemonic discourse of art, shows the work of the American artist Dorothea Tanning. Painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer is considered one of the most important and versatile women artists of the twentieth century and nevertheless is a great unknown to the general public.

150 works from institutions and collections from different parts of the world such as USA, France, Germany, Greece, London, Sweden and Israel, among which we find canvases, soft sculptures, sketches and illustrations form the first great retrospective of this surrealist artist that Tti has brought to Madrid.

During the tour we can see how Tanning breaks the distance between the work of art and the spectator pretending that his creations are an invitation to go further.
