El Museo Reina Sofia presenta la retrospectiva del artista norteamericano Horace Clifford Westermann (Los Ángeles, 1922 – Danbury, 1981). Graduado en 1954 por el Art Institute de Chicago su trabajo se desarrolla principalmente en el área de la escultura. Aunque trabajó diferentes materiales con extraordinaria precisión, como el metal, el vidrio o el esmaltado, destacó notablemente como ebanista.

Comisariada por Manuel Borja-Villel y Beatriz Velázquez, la muestra recoge un total de 185 obras, entre las que podemos ver 82 esculturas, 62 obras entre pinturas, acuarelas, dibujos y obra gráfica junto con algunos documentos que nos ayudan a entender su obra y trayectoria.

The Reina Sofia Museum presents the retrospective of the North American artist Horace Clifford Westermann (Los Angeles, 1922 – Danbury, 1981). Graduated in 1954 by the Art Institute of Chicago. Although he worked with different materials with extraordinary precision, such as metal, glass or enameling, he noticeably stood out as a cabinetmaker.

Curated by Manuel Borja-Villel and Beatriz Velázquez, the exhibition includes a total of 185 works, among which we can see 82 sculptures, 62 works including paintings, watercolors, drawings and graphic work along with some documents that help us to understand his work and trajectory.
